About Jagmeet

My name is Jagmeet Kaur, and I’m currently a Graduate Assistant Coach for the men’s and women’s teams at the University of New Orleans. A little about me: I’m a 2025 Mid American Conference (MAC) champion, MAC MVP, and Player of the Year, and I’ve competed in both ITF juniors and professional events. Coaching-wise, I’ve been working closely with collegiate athletes at UNO, helping with technical development, point-structure training, fitness/footwork sessions, and match preparation. My coaching style is very player-focused. I like to keep sessions high-energy, structured, and purposeful. With juniors I focus heavily on fundamentals, body control, and pattern development, while with adults I aim for a balance of technique, strategy, and fun, depending on their goals. I usually format lessons with a quick warm-up, progression-based drills, situation-based points, and clear takeaways at the end.

What students say...

"Coach Jag is patient, skilled, and truly dedicated to your progress. My technique and confidence have grown so much since training with her.

With over 15 years of dedicated experience in tennis, I bring a unique blend of competitive playing background and professional coaching expertise to the court. My journey includes competing as a college-level professional player, where I developed a deep understanding of high-performance tennis, as well as earning my certification as an ITF Level 1 Certified Coach. This international and multi-state experience has shaped my ability to adapt coaching methods to meet the needs of each individual player. I am passionate about fostering growth in every player I work with—whether they are complete beginners discovering the sport for the first time, or aspiring competitors looking to elevate their game. My coaching philosophy focuses on developing strong technical fundamentals, building tactical awareness, and enhancing physical and mental resilience. I believe that tennis is not only about mastering strokes, but also about building character, discipline, and confidence. My sessions are designed to be fun, engaging, and challenging, with a clear pathway for players to achieve their individual goals. Having been immersed in the sport for most of my life, I understand both the player’s perspective and the coach’s responsibility. What tennis coaches in New Orleans, Louisiana can help you work on

Private tennis lessons in New Orleans are built around your goals. Whatever you want to improve, a coach can focus each session on it. Here are the areas coaches in New Orleans work on most.

Groundstrokes and consistency

Build dependable forehands and backhands with depth and spin. New Orleans coaches groove your strokes and footwork so they hold up in long rallies.

Serve and return

Add power, placement, and a reliable second serve, then neutralize big serves on the return. A coach in New Orleans rebuilds the most important shots in the game.

Net play and volleys

Get comfortable finishing at the net with clean volleys, overheads, and approach shots. Tennis coaches in New Orleans sharpen your hands and positioning up front.

Footwork and movement

Move better, recover faster, and set up every shot with the right steps. New Orleans tennis coaches drill court coverage, balance, and recovery.

Match strategy and tactics

Win more matches by building points, reading opponents, and playing the percentages. Coaches in New Orleans coach the tactical side of tennis, not just technique.

Vetted, background-checked tennis coaches

Every age and level, ages 5 to 18

Coaches in New Orleans teach juniors from as young as 5 through high-school and competitive athletes, tailoring each session to your child's age, level, and goals — whether that is first-time fundamentals, building confidence, or tryout and team prep.

Parents welcome at every tennis lesson

Parents are welcome to stay and watch — many do, especially with younger kids — but it is never required. Either way, your coach shares progress and what to practice between lessons.
