A four-year letterwinner at the University of South Alabama, Gruindelingh compiled a 60-50 overall singles record during his tenure, including a 44-37 mark in dual matches. He was a two-time All-Sun Belt Conference honoree in doubles, earning second team honors with Manuel Belda in 2014 and first team accolades with fellow Duke assistant coach Daniel Leitner a year later. His partnership with Leitner resulted in a 12-3 mark at No. 1 and a 17-5 record overall. Gruindelingh went 4-4 at No. 1 with Belda and posted a 15-8 overall doubles record. Gruindelingh graduated from South Alabama with his bachelor’s degree in business management in 2017, before going back to earn his master’s degree in health education in 2019.★New
