Before attending university l taught tennis for 4 years at the San Antonio Tennis Academy and the NEISD Blossom tennis center. Working with people of all ages ranges. Personal racket(s), hydration, appropriate clothing (for the weather), any personal medical equipment (inhalers, braces, pills, etc), sunscreen, sunglasses, sweat towels for hand & forehead), light snacks, moleskin (for hotspots on feet). Journals are encouraged (to include pen/pencil) unless students use a digital device to make notes. If students desire to record portions of their session, they can bring devices to do so. Students need to understand their learning style and bring additional items that facilitate learning. Umbrellas are encouraged to aid in cooling the body and minimizing the possibility of dehydration and heat exhaustion.

My lesson plan is the same for all ages, but I adjust based on where the student is at in their development. If a student is just starting out, I will scale back significantly. Coaching a younger student is only as successful as the parentsβ participation to helping the student understand more and more outside of lessons.
