Bio: Phoenix Avalon (age 24) is a graduate of The Juilliard School where he worked under the tutelage of Itzhak Perlman and Li Lin as a proud recipient of the Kovner Fellowship. Originally from Santa Fe, New Mexico, Phoenix began his violin studies at age three with Rick Lohmann and Carmelo de los Santos. Since then, he has attended the Meadowmount School of Music, Kneisel Hall Chamber Music Festival, the Perlman Music Program, and was a scholarship student at the Cleveland Institute of Music Young Artist Program studying with Jaime Laredo and Jan Sloman. Phoenix has studied chamber music extensively with members of the Cavani String Quartet, the Juilliard String Quartet, and the Cleveland Quartet. As a soloist, Phoenix has performed across the United States and Europe and has enjoyed engagements with the Jena Philharmonic, the Cleveland POPS Orchestra, the Boulder Symphony, the Arapahoe Philharmonic, the New Mexico Philharmonic, and Performance Santa Fe Orchestras. He has been featured on USA national radio programs Performance Today and From the Top, as well as giving a solo presentation for TedXABQ. Phoenix’s competition awards include First Prize at the Banff International String Quartet Competition as a member of the Isidore String Quartet, First Prize at the Louis Spohr International Violin Competition, Third Prize at the Johansen International Competition and Silver Medal at The Fischoff National Chamber Music Association as a member of the Razumovsky Quartet. He is honored to also be a recipient of a 2019 EMCY Prize and the Davis New Mexico Arts Excellence Scholarship. Phoenix is a founding member of the Isidore String Quartet. Formed in 2019, the ISQ has attended the Ravinia Steans Institute, received First Prize and the Haydn Prize at the 2022 Banff International String Quartet Competition, and was recently honored with the 2023 Avery Fisher Career Grant. As a member of the ISQ, Phoenix has performed extensively across North America and Europe and has appeared at notable chamber music societies such as the Kennedy Center, 92NY, Cal Performamces, Stanford Live, Shriver Hall, Spivey Hall, Köln Philharmonie, Berlin Konzerthaus, as well as the Lucerne Festival, Edinburgh Festival, Bravo! Vail, and Toronto Summer Music Festival among many others. Phoenix has had the great privilege to collaborate with incredible artists including James Ehnes, Jeremy Denk, Shai Wosner, Barry Shiffman, Jon Nakumatsu, and the Leonkoro and Adelphi Quartets. Actively dedicated to community service, Phoenix has played for numerous fundraisers and outreach programs, and has developed and toured an interactive presentation of classical music history for school children as part of ‘From the Top’s Leadership Training’. Bio: I'm Karina Byakova, a passionate musician born in Shahtinsk, Kazakhstan. My musical journey began early, and my education focused on violin, piano, and viola studies in prestigious academies across Kazakhstan and Russia. With a rich background in teaching and performance, I specialize in music education for young children and have been an active performer in both New York City and Florida.

Bio: My journey as a violinist began over two decades ago, and sharing that passion with students is incredibly fulfilling. I cultivate a supportive learning environment where each student can hone their musicality and technical skills with joy and confidence. While pursuing an active international performance career as a soloist, orchestra leader, chamber musician and a recording artist with two solo CD albums released and sold worldwide, I have also been able to maintain a twenty years long and successful history of teaching students of various ages, abilities and goals. The diversity and wide geography of my professional training have enriched both my performance style and my teaching approach and methods.

Bio: I've devoted 17 years to playing the violin and sharing its enchanting melodies with audiences. Over the past 3 years, I've taken the role of a teacher, imparting the beauty of the violin to students at beginner and intermediate levels. As part of the NYU Orchestra and Ensembles, I’ve had the privilege of performing on renowned stages. My musical journey culminated in the award of a Bachelor's degree in Music from New York University.

Bio: I've been playing violin for 20 years. I recently graduated from my master of music at Manhattan School of Music under the guides Fe do Associate concertmaster of the NY Philharmonic Sheryl Staples. I have experience teaching all levels and ages. I grew up with Suzuki method so I also have a lot of experience with it. As a performer, I've played with professional orchestras and also chamber music and violin recitals as well.

Bio: Liora is a teaching artist dedicated to bringing the joy of music-making to everyone through high-energy classes and performances. An active freelancing musician, Liora is a founding member of Trio Atropos, a clarinet, viola, and piano trio dedicated to exploring repertoire by underrepresented composers. Liora is also a founding member of Delicious Bass, NYC's premier (and only!) bass clarinet ensemble. She is a teaching artist with Musical Mentors Collaborative's Explorers program, leading group introductory music lessons including drum circle, recorder, keyboard, and ukulele to students at PS 2 and PS 164. She is also a teaching artist with Third Street Music School's Partners Program, through which she teaches woodwind group classes at PS 99. Liora is currently on the faculty at Marymount School of New York, and previously served as an adjunct professor with NYU’s Clarinet faculty, where she taught private lessons and led a monthly studio class. Liora maintains a vibrant and growing private studio with students of all ages in NYC.
