Preparing for your TeachMe.To lesson is simple. Whether you’re trying a new sport or returning to one you love, a little preparation helps you get the most out of your session. Coaches on TeachMe.To work with Students of all ages and experience levels, so don’t worry if it’s your very first time.
Here’s how to get ready:
Review Your Coach’s Instructions
Before your lesson, check the details your coach provided on their profile or in your booking confirmation. Your coach may include notes about:
- What to bring
- Where to meet
- Specific equipment preferences
- Safety considerations
- How they run their first session
If anything feels unclear, feel free to message them directly in the app. They’re happy to help.
Bring Water, Proper Gear, and Comfortable Clothing
Your equipment needs depend on the activity, but in general you should bring:
- Water to stay hydrated
- Comfortable athletic clothing
- Appropriate shoes (running shoes, court shoes, swim gear, etc.)
- Any equipment your coach requested
If you don’t own gear yet (like golf clubs, a tennis racquet, or a pickleball paddle), many coaches can lend basic equipment for your first lesson.
Arrive 5 to 10 Minutes Early
Showing up a few minutes early helps you:
- Find the exact meeting spot
- Warm up lightly
- Meet your coach without rushing
- Discuss goals and expectations
If your lesson is at a large park, facility, or driving range, that extra time makes a big difference.
New to the Activity? No Problem.
