Beginner training plan

Your first lessonAt the beginning, I like to establish an initial baseline for the swing and putting stroke. Every student is different with unique physical abilities and goals. With most students I start work on the fundamentals of the game, beginning with grip on the club using a grip trainer. We then work to build proper alignment and posture. These pieces form a great foundation to build on.

Lesson 11+Later lessons are great for addressing movements the student still finds challenging. We also work to address any issues with specific clubs, and can begin to implement more advanced areas such as using ground forces to build power

Lesson 4-10Once the foundation has been established in the first three lessons, I like to work on hip and hand downswing positions with using a variety of drills to teach the body how to move into and through the ball.

Lesson 2-3In lessons 2 and 3, I like to work on the feel of a proper weight shift using medicine ball throws. I then like to focus on proper take-away and wrist set drills, with emphasis on engraining proper body and club positions.

Youth players

Working with kidsWhen working with kids, Tyson works to keep lessons light, fun, and dynamic. He tries to strike a balance of learning the fundamentals of the game while finding success and positive moments.

Working with teenagersTyson has demonstrated success in developing teenage golfers (and sometimes teaching their parents as well). He is the head boys golf coach at a local high school and has a knack for helping teenage players to learn and improve.
