Beginner training plan
Your first lessonFirst I will make sure you have a strong understanding of the rules, how scoring works, and what equipment you may need. We'll also cover grip, stance, and basic strokes to get the fundamental building blocks in place.
Lesson 11+Finally we'll test your skills with guided game play, bringing together all of the techniques and strategies you ve learned. We'll also introduce you to advanced shots like lobs and how to add maximum spin. Lastly, we will fine-tune your overall game performance to prepare you for competitive play.
Lesson 4-10Next, we'll talk about decision making, such as accuracy and placement while learning key strategies for both singles and doubles. We'll work on volleys, dinks, and general tactics to increase your confidence and effectiveness on the court.
Lesson 2-3Next we'll begin refining your forehand and backhand strokes, as well as practicing consistent serves and returns. We'll also cover court positioning and basic footwork to improve your game play.
Youth players
Working with kidsWhen working with kids, I will incorporate drilling games and make the lessons more engaging and exciting to keep their attention.
Working with teenagersWorking with teenagers, I will add components that are challenging but with realistic expectations and goals to keep the students challenged but making sure to focus on milestones of improvement.
What you need to bringThe only things you need to bring is water to stay hydrated, good shoes with rubber soles and clothing you can move freely in, and a positive attitude.
