My name is Coach York and as a player and a coach I want to bring something different to the table—something I think a lot of coaches miss. In my sessions, I focus on hard work and discipline, but just as importantly, I make sure the kids are having fun and enjoying the game. Soccer should be something players look forward to, not something that burns them out or stresses them out. As a young player and coach, I’ve seen how some coaching styles can take the joy out of the sport. I want to change that. My goal is to create a positive, supportive environment where your kids feel motivated, confident, and excited to grow as both athletes and individuals. I also encourage every player to find their own style and build on it. Soccer isn’t one-size-fits-all—I want to help each player become the best version of themselves on the field. I’m committed to helping them develop not just skills, but confidence, creativity, and a real love for the game.

Beginner training plan
Your first lessonFor my first session with a beginner, I plan to focus on the fundamentals and ensure a steady pace, avoiding the rush into more advanced material too soon.
Lesson 11+Starting with Lesson 11 and beyond, things will get a bit more exciting and challenging! We’ll focus more on group training, where players with similar skill levels will have the chance to play against each other. This is a great opportunity to put everything we’ve practiced so far into action—while still keeping a strong focus on mastering the basics. It’s all about building confidence, teamwork, and having fun as you grow your skills!
Lesson 4-10Lessons 4-10 will be fast pace fundamental skills with slowly adding more techniques and moving foward to mixing basics with IQ mixing in passing to goal, open gaps, etc.
Lesson 2-3As we progress into the second and third sessions, we’ll continue focusing on the same fundamental skills, but at a quicker pace to help them become more comfortable and confident with the ball.
Advanced training plan
Your first lessonIn my first session with advanced players, I plan to focus on refining the fundamentals with greater intensity and attention to detail, ensuring we build on a strong foundation before progressing to more complex and high-level aspects of the game.
Lesson 11+Starting with Lesson 11 and beyond, we’ll step up the intensity and focus on competitive group training sessions. Players with comparable advanced skills will challenge each other, putting all the techniques and tactics we’ve developed into real game situations. While pushing your limits, we’ll continue refining the fundamentals to ensure your foundation stays strong. This phase is all about elevating your game through smart play, quick decision-making, and high-level teamwork.
Lesson 4-10For Lessons 4 through 10, we’ll be moving at a fast pace, focusing on advanced fundamental skills. Each session will progressively build on techniques you already know, while introducing more complex moves and strategies. We’ll start mixing the basics with higher-level game IQ elements—like smart passing to goal, identifying and exploiting open gaps, and overall field awareness.
Lesson 2-3As we move into the second and third sessions, we’ll continue to build on the same core fundamentals, but at a faster pace and higher intensity. The focus will be on sharpening technique and increasing comfort and confidence with the ball under pressure, preparing the players to perform at a more advanced level.
Youth players
Working with kidsWhen teaching kids, I adapt by embracing their imagination and making learning playful. I focus on helping them master the fundamentals of the game at a young age, but without ever taking the fun out of it. If a child isn’t smiling or enjoying themselves, regardless of their skill level, I see that as an opportunity to adjust my approach and bring the joy back into their experience.
Working with teenagersWhen working with teenagers, I focus on perfecting the fundamentals, emphasizing that a strong foundation is key to success in soccer. At the same time, I recognize and develop each player’s individual strengths, helping them refine their personal skills while keeping the training enjoyable. My goal is to push growth without ever taking the fun out of the game.
