I start by understanding the player’s goals, athletic background, and comfort level on court. We cover the basic grips, ready position, movement, and simple forehand and backhand fundamentals. I keep the lesson active and fun while building a strong technical foundation and making sure the player leaves feeling confident and excited to improve.
We reinforce the forehand and backhand while introducing more consistent footwork, contact point, and recovery. I also begin working on serving fundamentals, rally control, and basic court positioning. The goal is to help the player start sustaining rallies and feel more comfortable moving and hitting with purpose.
We build consistency, control, and confidence in all major strokes. Players begin working on serves, returns, volleys, directional control, and simple point construction. I introduce more live-ball drills and match-style situations so they can apply technique under pressure and start understanding how to play actual points.
At this stage, training becomes more personalized to the player’s goals. We continue improving technique while developing consistency, movement, strategy, shot selection, and match confidence. Sessions include more competitive drills, point play, and targeted work on individual weaknesses so the player can continue progressing toward recreational or competitive goals.
