I’ve played softball for 14 years as a pitcher and utility athlete, earning multiple regional and state honors in high school. I have six years of coaching experience and created my own summer softball camps. I also worked as a Division I team manager at Coastal Carolina, supporting practices and stats. I’m passionate about building players’ confidence and creating a positive team environment.

I was a former competitive gymnast myself and have been teaching for about 10 years now. I have experience with all ages and skill levels. I pride myself on being able to work with all different kinds of personalities and tailoring lessons to meet their individual needs.

For over 25 years, I've been immersed in the world of tennis. On top of that, my love for table tennis has kept me engaged for nearly four decades, and I'm still at it. A few years ago, I embraced a new challenge: pickleball. I've since competed in various tournaments in Virginia, both in singles and mixed doubles categories. Just in 2023, I proudly clinched 5 medals – 2 in singles and 3 in mixed doubles. Beyond the thrill of the game, I have a passion for teaching and connecting with new people. Sharing my knowledge and experiences with others is what keeps me going.

Shawn Purnell, hailing from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, embarked on a remarkable boxing journey at the tender age of 14, achieving triumphs in numerous championships and international competitions. Transitioning to the professional realm under the guidance of legendary manager Joe Frazier, Shawn now excels as a high school math teacher, combining his passion for teaching with his boxing prowess.

Through the practice of yoga or personal training, I empower individuals to find balance, strength, and inner peace. My 8 years of experience have allowed me to develop a teaching style that is both challenging and supportive, helping students of all levels deepen their practice.
