I’m Coach Denzel Jones, founder of Hoop Dynasty, with over 10 years of basketball coaching and player development experience. I’ve coached more than 60 teams and helped numerous athletes earn college scholarships through personalized skill training and discipline. My approach focuses on meeting each player where they are — whether they’re just starting or preparing for high-level competition. I specialize in ball handling, shooting form, footwork, core and leg strength, and game IQ. With over 30 years of experience in sports, including 17 years as a professional basketball player in Europe (2008–2025). I bring a lifelong passion for the game and a commitment to developing the next generation of athletes. My coaching philosophy is rooted in fundamentals: skill development, speed, agility, teamwork, and cultivating a true appreciation for the sport. Competing internationally exposed me to high-level training and diverse basketball cultures, lessons I now share with my athletes. As a retired athlete, I’m excited to shift my focus to mentoring players of all ages from children just discovering the game to teenagers refining their skills, and even adults seeking athletic training. Whether you’re brand-new to basketball, unsure where to start, or simply eager to grow, I’m here to guide both athletes and parents through the journey. Basketball gave me the opportunity to grow, compete, and connect across cultures. Now, my mission is to create that same sense of growth and inspiration for others.

For fifty years, I've had the privilege of sharing my love of basketball with players of all levels. My coaching philosophy centers on building fundamental skills while fostering a passion for the game that lasts a lifetime. I've played at all levels in basketball starting on the playground, getting cut from my freshman team to starting and leading my high school team to the state tournament. I was recruited by and eventually signed to go to Rutgers University where AI started all four years. From there I was drafted to the Cleveland Cavilers. I played 10 years in the NBA before having to retire from the game I love. After the NBA, I started working with the NBA Players Association where we started the Top 100 Basketball Camp which is hailed as the best camp in Basketball. We used our camp to elevate the game of a number of NBA Players starting with our first year where we had the late great Kobe Bryant. Over the next 30 we've had over 150 plus NBA Players attend the camp. Let's work together to elevate your game.

Helping people is my passion, and basketball is one of the opportunities I have to pursue this passion. The game is for the players, they deserve the opportunity to lead and have fun. My job is to motivate, guide, and instill confidence. Lessons will focus on skill fundamentals and decision-making/game-like atmospheres. I’ve trained youth, high school, college, and professional athletes, helping them improve all areas of their game - from ball handling, shooting, and passing, to educating increasing in game basketball IQ.
