Welcome to Golf Lessons by P. Kollar, where passion meets precision in the charming city of Fountain Valley, CA. Mile Square Golf Club is my home course, where you’ll often find me working on my game. As a dedicated golf instructor, I specialize in offering a personalized coaching lesson in golf. Whether you're a beginner eager to learn the basics and fundamentals of the game or intermediate player aiming to refine your overall golfing ability, the lessons I implement are designed to enhance your overall golf game, while most importantly helping you to enjoy your time spent practicing. As a graduate of Golf Academy of America, Carlsbad, California (sadly no longer in business), I studied the psychology of golf, complex teaching and course management. I also learned how to build a set of golf clubs as well as mastering the complex rules of golf, and the overall fundamentals of how to coach and instruct students. During my 2 years at GAA, I quickly excelled, making the competitive Club Golf Team. I came to learn that there are no two identical golf swings. It is my job to assist you to find the mechanically correct way to improve your swing and develop your short game. Whenever you’re ready to lower that scorecard, I’m ready to coach you!

My journey with golf began at the age of 6 when my grandpa crafted my first set of clubs. Since then, golf has been my constant companion, leading me to captain my high school golf team and later coach the girl's varsity team at Jurupa Valley after my time at UCLA where double majored in anthropology and philosophy. With a background in teaching and coaching, golf isn't just a sport to me—it's a lifelong passion that brings joy and fulfillment. As a coach, I'm dedicated to passing on this love of the game to others, guiding students through all aspects of golf, from swing mechanics to mental strategies, physical conditioning, and course management. With over 20 years of experience in competitive golf, I bring a unique perspective to coaching. I started playing at 3 years old, won numerous junior tournaments, and made my first hole-in-one at age 5. By 14, I had collected over 100 tournament trophies and was competing in professional mini tours, which eventually led me to play Division 1 golf at Cal State Fullerton. My career has included college coaching, professional caddying, and now more than 5 years of dedicated instruction for players at every level. To give my students every advantage, I use a Foresight GCQuad launch monitor, the same technology trusted by PGA Tour players and major club companies. It provides precise feedback on ball speed, spin, launch, club path, and carry distance, allowing us to track progress, spot swing patterns, and dial in exactly how far each club goes.

With a lifelong commitment to the game of golf, I have established a distinguished record across all levels of competition, beginning with a junior golf career highlighted by dozens of tournament victories and notable performances in premier events such as the US Junior Amateur, Junior World Championships, and the California Cup Team. During high school, I was a vital member of a CIF championship-winning team, demonstrating my dedication to excellence. Advancing to collegiate golf at Washington State University, I achieved two individual tournament wins and contributed to eight team victories, with my tenure marked by representing the university at the NCAA Championship and securing a national ranking of 15th, reflecting both my skill and perseverance. As an amateur golfer, I have competed in numerous major amateur golf championships, always seeking to challenge myself and refine my abilities. Currently, I have reentered the golf industry as a PGA Associate Qualifier and am working toward completion of my TPI Level 1 certification. Benjamin Tibbs is a results-driven golf coach with over 25 years of experience in the game, dedicated to helping golfers unlock real, lasting improvement while keeping the game enjoyable and sustainable. "I started golfing 6 months ago and had gone through multiple golf instructors from the local golf course at Oak Creek to PGA Superstore and more without able to get concrete feedback and analysis from my lessons. After hearing about Golftec from a friend and reading some reviews, I decided to go in for a swing analysis with Ben Tibbs. I immediately saw the value and benefit of the technology they use showing you not only what you're doing right or wrong but also what the pros are doing right. I immediately signed up for a 6 month lesson plan with Ben. In less than 10 lessons with Ben (one of which was a putting lesson), I have gone from the plagued "out to in" swing path to a consistent and more confident "in to out" swing path; allowing me to finally draw the ball! The biggest benefit above hitting the ball better and farther is having a more effortless and easy on my body swing (and less frustrating). People spend a lot of money on golf equipment but if you really want to play this game long term, invest in a coach. To think even Tiger, Kobe, Jordan, and Serena had coaches at the peak of careers, we can definitely use a coach to accelerate us on the learning curve. I appreciate Golftec because unlike just taking lessons on a range, you have video feedback, and detailed analysis/breakdown of what's working and not working in YOUR own swing. Not to mention it's at a fraction of the price of range instructors. Ben has been an amazing instructor. He's very experienced, knowledgeable, and patient; three traits needed for a great coach. He's very methodical in his approach by teaching you sequentially different ways to feel each aspect (position) of your swing. Don't go in thinking you can "fix" your swing in one day or week because there are a total of 10 positions making up your swing. Ben expertly broke it down so well that I now have a real playable golf swing!
