As a touring artist, I bring 10 years of professional experience to my guitar instruction. I'm dedicated to helping students of all levels unlock their musical potential. My approach is tailored, ensuring an engaging and effective learning journey.

Music has been my lifelong passion, and for the past 45 years, I've been fortunate enough to share that passion with aspiring guitarists of all levels. As a recording artist, I bring a unique perspective and wealth of experience to each lesson. I attended the Hartford Conservatory of Music where I studied guitar, audio engineering, and record production among many other subjects and have been helping aspiring guitarists attain their specific goals for 3 decades. My lessons are custom tailored to help each student achieve their goals on the instrument and I place the enjoyment of playing above everything else. Becoming a better musician can be a rewarding challenge, and fun along with self actualization are the vehicle through which this journey happens.

I am a professional music instructor/performer and a graduate from Berklee College of Music. I specialize in jazz, fusion, pop, and of course metal. With many years of teaching experience, my primary goal has always been to share my passion for music and inspire students to explore their horizons. I strive to create an engaging and supportive learning environment throughout the lessons. By fostering creativity, encouraging persistence, and celebrating each student’s unique progress, I aim to instill a lifelong appreciation for music in everyone I teach.

I've been a professional touring bassist and educator for 20 years. I'm a doubler both electric and upright. I have a B.M. in Music education from VCU in Richmond, VA. (Don't make a joke about your degree being a "BM") If you're still here, I'm also a guitarist and have taught strings and brass. I've taught privately and classroom settings both in-person and remotely. I bring my experiences as a performing artist and educator to guide students of all ages and levels. My lessons are individualized and intended to guide you on your musical journey. Lessons can vary depending on your needs, wants and goals. I have had the honor of being signed to Relapse Records and Wiilowtip records as well as many other labels in the extreme metal community. I specialized in heavy music for a long time but I am fluent in all genres of music as well,including folk,jazz, classical,rock, blues,funk,punk rock,new wave,pop,ska,hardcore,swing,avant garde,progressive,technical, contemporary,ambient,hip hop and experimental. I enjoy teaching everything from scales,chords, rhythm,melody,phrasing, transition,picking,finger placement,fretboard memory,fast runs,chord groups,major,minor, pentatonic,mixolydian,aeolian,diminished,phrygian,locrian,Dorian,and many more. I also like to focus on figuring out composition by ear,for example learning your favorite artists songs and development of your own styles while drawing from your influence or whatever you are wanting to play. Whether you are a beginner or advanced I will work at your pace. I can give you the tools to becoming a better musician and playing to your full potential.
