In all honesty, It completely depends on the age & maturity of the kid. If they are able to listen/have a conversation then the lesson will be very different from kid who cannot. I make sure the lesson remains fun & engaging while also tiring them out. Everything beyond that remains to be seen.

Coaching tennis to kids can be incredibly rewarding and fun when you have the right lesson plans in place. The key to success is creating a structured yet engaging environment that keeps young players motivated while building their skills. Start with basic warm-up exercises to get them moving and comfortable on the court. Next, incorporate foundational drills like proper grip, footwork, and racquet handling to develop their technique. Use fun, interactive games to make learning enjoyable and maintain their focus—kids respond best when they’re having fun! Always tailor your lesson plans to match the group’s age and skill level, ensuring activities are challenging but achievable. End each session with a cool-down period and a positive review of what they’ve learned. By combining patience, creativity, and enthusiasm, you can foster a love for the game and help kids build confidence both on and off the court.
