Beginner training plan
Your first lessonWe will warm up with dinking and proper dinking technique and types of dinks. Then we can practice serving and proper serve technique from both sides of the court. We can then practice groundstroke which makes up the 2nd and 3rd shots in a pickleball rally. Will also discuss proper court positioning and general rules
Lesson 4-10Dinking and short range net play is a HUGE part of pickleball. We will focus on getting to the kitchen line, dinking, and maintaining a ready position to adapt to a ball coming straight on, or to your left/right. Will also reinforce serving and serve types and the ground stroke.
Lesson 2-3We will practice dinking, serving, groundstroke and net play. Will go over aspects from the first lesson to reinforce those concepts. Will begin to play out a rally to get a feel for a live game.
What you need to bringAll you'll need are comfortable athletic clothes, tennis shoes, and a water bottle for hydration. If you have a paddle, feel free to bring it, and I will bring my paddles as well. Most importantly, bring your enthusiasm and a positive attitude to enjoy the wonderful game of pickleball!
