Beginner training plan
Your first lessonThe first lesson I will spend a lot of time going over the rules and scoring. A lot of new players find themselves confused about how scoring and serving works. We will spend a lot of the first lesson building a solid understanding of the rules/scoring.
Lesson 11+In lessons 11+ we can work on more advanced strategies like 3rd shot drops, slices, and placing the ball better. I always listen to my students. If there is something they specifically want to improve on we will always work on that first.
Lesson 4-10In lessons 4-10 students should have a clear understanding of the rules. We will work on ground strokes and volleys, making sure we practice serves and dinks as well. This should provide a great foundation for playing pickleball and having fun.
Lesson 2-3In lessons 2-3 we generally will expand on the rules and put them into practice. As the rules and scoring begin to make sense, we will work on things like dinking and serving to each side.
What you need to bringIf you have your own paddle then bring that. It helps to practice with the same paddle you’ll use when you play. Please wear closed toed shoes and bring some water.
