With an extraordinary tennis journey, Erik rose to prominence as a top-ranked junior player, both nationally and internationally. My collegiate career with NC State and Morehouse College saw me achieve an unprecedented feat, marking an undefeated season and defeating the #1 player on the nation's top-ranked team. His talents extended to the ATP World Tour, where he secured world rankings in both singles and doubles, despite an abbreviated tour stint due to sponsorship challenges. Afterwards he transitioned to work alongside distinguished players in the WTA/ATP tours, including Heidi El Tabakh, Edina Gallovits, Donald Young, and more. My coaching prowess also shone as he trained junior world champions, including notable names like Emma Kurtz and Dillon Pottish. Currently, Erik is dedicated to running a junior program aimed at preparing young talents for college tennis and beyond. In addition, he's building a comprehensive tennis academy featuring six courts, a swimming pool, and dormitory facilities, where the future of tennis can be nurtured and inspired.

"Erik is a terrific coach who achieved a lot in his own career. Now he has a passion for helping players at all levels and ages. I started working with him as a 43 year-old cancer patient with barely any prior experience. His encouragement, consistency, and skills have empowered me to fight this cancer and given me the confidence to know that my body is still strong every time we're on the court. Erik has helped me through a particularly hard part of my journey--I got very bad news this summer--but when I'm out on the court I feel strong, and he always respects my limits. Erik has helped my tennis athlete become more consistent with his rallying and volleys. Erik observes my athlete and provides on-going feedback about any adjustments needed to improve his ability to consistently hit the ball. Beginner training plan
Your first lessonWe will start with proper grip and basic bouncing drills and basic technique. You will be able to really by the end of the first lesson.
Lesson 11+We're on our way to the US Open 😆

Youth players
Working with kidsI have extensive experience working with kids from daycare age through elementary school. My students learn proper technique while having a ball. They are ready for tournaments within months of our program

What you need to bringPlease bring a racket if possible along with tennis shoes and water.
What I can bringI can provide rackets if requested. I bring a basket of tennis balls to each lesson. I can also help players purchase additional equipment through my online store.
