Some people are merely a teacher, instructor or a guide. Susie is all three! She teaches you the fundamentals of Pickle Ball, she instructs you on how to play proficiently, and she guides you to success. I’ve been fortunate to work with Susie, she has given me the tools needed to not only learn how to play, but how to improve. She is kind, and patient. Susie has never made me feel like a lost cause, even when I feel that way myself. In fact, Susie boosts my confidence while she is helping me build a solid foundation to be a better, and no doubt even better player with her top notch coaching skills. Susie is truly the very definition of triple threat!

As an educator, I appreciate Susie’s approach to coaching Pickleball. I started with her as a beginner. She was able to break the movements down into bite-sized steps that helped me to learn the game with proper form. Susie also explained the “why” behind the process. I appreciated her constructive feedback and how she gave us ways to remember what to do and what not to do. I have also taken a few intermediate lessons from her and found her superb at recognizing my stage and ability and then coach me on what I could do better. Best pickle ball coach I’ve ever had! Susie knows technique and strategy and is able to execute both. Her instructions are easy to understand and her exercises focus on specific skills. Susie is very observant and lets you know what you need to work on to improve quickly. Plus she’s super nice and a very generous person. I’ve only been playing pickle ball a short time but with Susie’s help I’ve improved quickly and you can too!

Beginner training plan
Your first lessonIn your first lesson, you'll learn basic techniques for hitting a groundstroke and serve, game strategy, court position, fundamental game terminology, and how to score. No prior sports experience is needed to enjoy the exciting game of pickleball. My main goal is for you to have fun and leave eager to play again!
Lesson 11+As we move forward with your lessons, we'll concentrate on mastering the first five key shots in the game, giving you the confidence and skills needed for both recreational and competitive play. As you progress, we'll introduce specialized shots to add more strategy to your game. Each lesson will be tailored to your unique needs and skill level, ensuring a personalized approach to your development.
Lesson 4-10As we progress through our lessons together, you'll be introduced to a variety of shots, including volleys, dinks, overhead smashes, drops/resets, and more! We'll build on your strengths and begin to turn any weaknesses into new strengths using fun drills. You'll have a solid skill set to enjoy recreational games and have a blast with other like-minded players!
Lesson 2-3In the next few lessons, we'll explore more aspects of the game, including shot selection from mid-court and close to the net. You'll begin to understand WHY you should hit certain shots and the importance of your position on the court to benefit you and your partner. You'll also begin to understand how to self-correct when you make errors rather than use self-criticism. Above all, we'll focus on helping you move safely on the court while ensuring you continue having fun!
What you need to bringPlease wear closed toe, athletic shoes and active wear. Remember to bring water and a big smile! This will be fun!
