Beginner training plan
Your first lessonOur first lesson will work highly on fundamentals. We’ll work on racket grip. Holding a tennis ball on the racket, and dribbling up and down. Based on student’s comfort and ability, we’ll move into some ground strokes.
Lesson 11+Lessons 11 onward will involve less drills and more match play. We’ll work on areas that might need improvement, but also work on the mental game. We’ll do match scenarios where we’ll start with a match score of 1-2 sets up or down. The object of the student will be to overcome the deficit or maintain their lead. We’ll talk about mindfulness, and the ability to only focus on the next point.
Lesson 4-10Lessons 4-10 will involve improving ground strokes and footwork. We’ll begin practicing shots at different areas of the court to work on control, touch, power, and spin. We will also begin to fine tune serves. Here we’ll have more opportunity for gameplay (fun drill and actual game scenarios!) Here we can also start capturing some drills on video, to review film and measure improvements!
Lesson 2-3Lessons 2-3 will incorporate what we learned in lesson 1. We’ll continue to work on ground strokes (forehands and backhands). Again based ability we might start practicing serves.

Youth players
Working with kidsI love working with kids as it provides both a challenge, but a greater reward having helped mentored a youth passionate about the sport that I love. I’ll tailor each lesson based on my student’s skill level, and create a fun, yet challenging experience for new players!

Working with teenagersWorking with teens, rather already playing or just starting, is truly a passion. I believe a lot of the lessons learned on the tennis court can be applied to real world, off the court, situations. Not only will we work on the physical skills, but we’ll really dive into the mental game needed. Tennis requires strategy, mindfulness and patience, determination, perseverance, and fortitude. There are a lot of feelings that take place during a tennis match and the mental aspect can take a physical toll if not mastered. Being able to look past deficits and play each point as it comes might be one of the most challenging aspects of tennis, even at the professional level.

What you need to bringThe preference will be to have each student bring his/her/their own rackets, however, Ill additional adult rackets, as well as balls, and everything we’ll need for the lesson.

What I can bringI’ll have balls, cones, extra rackets, grips, and dampeners. I also offer stringing services for those in need of a restring.
